Successful CD presentation to EQC as part of HJ27 interim study

HJ27 – Study of Conservation District Funding – is a study bill written by MACD focused on finding and securing more stable funding for conservation districts. To support the Environmental Quality Council (EQC) discussion on January 24th, Gallatin and Garfield CDs presented on what their districts do and how they serve Montanans and help conserve our natural resources. DNRC and MACD also provided comment on the successes and challenges of CDs across the state. The CD presentations to EQC were informative and well received by the Council. The EQC will now begin looking at potential funding options for conservation districts moving forward.
